Research work:

As a postdoctoral researcher and institutional data analyst, Anastasia combines her expertise in educational studies, statistics, and psychological assessment to investigate questions related to higher education:

  • quality assurance of university admissions systems,
  • study success rates,
  • research performance assessment,
  • internationalization of higher education.

Her PhD was dedicated to the prediction of study success based on admissions data and the quality of selective admissions for graduate programs in the life and natural sciences.

Anastasia collaborates with scientists, administrators, teachers, and policymakers to better implement educational policies.

Policy work

  • Analyzes internal institutional data of Utrecht University on student success rates and reports to the administration of the Utrecht University Graduate School of Life Sciences.
  • Develops policy guidelines for selective admissions to various undergraduate and graduate programs (including a medical program) at both university and national levels.
  • Tests innovative methods of admissions to the Utrecht University Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) and provides advice on the number of applicants to be admitted to the GSLS.
  • Initiated and implements a podcast series titled "Radio Life Sciences" on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
  • Serves as a leading editor of the newsletter for the PhD program "Life Sciences Education Research."

Educational tasks

  • Serves as a co-director of the Utrecht summer school course "Reviewing Internationalisation: Open to Global Change?" in 2023.
  • Coordinates an elective master's course titled "English for Academic Purposes."
  • Designs and implements an onboarding program for the graduate life sciences students.
